Visual Presence
A russet-brown mountain rises against a bright blue sky banked with white cloud, its slope studded with feathery palms in orange and green. A yellow-gold meadow fills the foreground, a rose-pink track winding up toward a lone figure in a straw hat carrying a load on a pole. The palette is warm and luminous — golden fields and rust earth set against jade foliage and clear blue.
About the Art
Paul Gauguin painted this view among the first canvases he made after reaching Tahiti, having sailed to the South Seas in search of fresh motifs and escape from a European life he found artificial and spiritually spent. He works in his characteristic Post-Impressionist manner, drawing the mountain and palms in sinuous contours and heightening the tropical light with intense, joyful colour. A solitary islander shoulders a burden up the pink track that barely parts the golden field, giving scale to the towering russet peak. The work is held in the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
