A large Symbolist canvas print in pink and black. The whole ground is one flat sheet of dusty rose with no horizon and no floor in it, and the two dark standing figures are cut straight out of that rose, so a dining room, a hotel reception or a boardroom end wall holds a warm colour field at full height with two upright shapes and two ring-shaped halos — one gold, one coral — standing in it.
Visual Presence
Printed two to three metres tall the two apostles stand taller than the people under them, so a dining wall reads as a presence at the end of the table rather than a picture hung on plaster. The rose ground is the thing that does the work in the room: it is warm and flat and it covers almost everything, so it throws a soft pink light back onto a white wall and a set table, while the two near-black robes drop the only real weight into the space and keep it from going sweet. From across the room you get four marks — the raised hand at the top left, the two halo rings, and the wine-red cloak on the right — and only close up does the surface break into the loose, unfinished brushwork underneath.
About the Art
Konrad Krzyżanowski (1872–1922), Expressionism, painted 1902. Konrad Krzyżanowski (1872–1922), Young Poland Expressionism, painted 1902. We chose it because it is the opposite of what he was known for. He built his name on portraits, and here he leaves the two apostles deliberately unresolved: Peter's raised hand and Paul's dark bulk are worked hard, and the rest is bare rose ground. Krzyżanowski was expelled from the Imperial Academy in Saint Petersburg after clashing with the rector over its teaching, studied privately in Munich under Simon Hollósy, then taught at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Oil on canvas, 108 by 98.5 centimetres, National Museum in Warsaw, inventory MP 32.

Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
