Visual Presence
At room scale the reds, golds and greens glow against the dark ground like stained glass, warming everything near the wall. About the Art
Paul Klee composed Castle and Sun during his Bauhaus years in Dessau, refining the 'magic square' approach that turned painting into chromatic architecture — and that is the case for choosing it: no other Klee shows the idea this joyfully. Rectangles and triangles interlock into the silhouette of a fortified town, their colours tuned like notes in a chord, a single circular sun anchoring the sky. His stated aim was to make visible the hidden structure beneath appearances, and this canvas became one of his most reproduced demonstrations of it. The original resides in a private collection; the image belongs to everyone.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
