Mount Cheops from Rogers Pass — William Brymner
A huge Landscape canvas print in blue and white. The lit snow peak sits high in a pale blue sky while the spruce forest along the bottom and both edges stays almost black, so a living room, a hotel lobby or a boardroom gets a wall that opens onto cold bright air above and deep shade below, with a small red train and its white steam the one warm point in it.
Visual Presence
Printed two to three metres wide, the pale sky and the sunlit snowfield throw light back into the room while the near-black forest along the bottom edge weighs the wall down, so a living room reads cool and still rather than bright. From a sofa the whole thing resolves into three bands — blue air, white peak, dark trees — which is what lets it hold a wide wall on its own instead of a row of small frames. Walk up and the small things come forward: the red carriages, the puff of steam, two figures standing on the road, and the yellow-green light running down the middle slope.
About the Art
William Brymner (1855–1925), Impressionism, painted 1899. William Brymner (1855–1925), Canadian landscape painting, painted 1899. We chose it for the railway that is barely in it. William Van Horne of the Canadian Pacific commissioned painters to sell the Rocky Mountains to the world, and in 1892 the Montreal Gazette reported Brymner was one of them, his views bound for the Chicago World's Fair. He had been painting this same pass since 1886, and here the train that carried him there is four red carriages and a thread of steam under the Selkirk snow. Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
