Visual Presence
Stretched wide, this reads like a lit stage running across the wall — a shimmering band of white tulle and mossy green that glows against darker furnishings. From across the room it is all light and movement, drawing the eye the way footlights do. It commands a long wall, above a sofa, sideboard or boardroom table, where its horizontal sweep can play out.
About the Art
Edgar Degas made this by laying fragile pastel over a monotype print — two techniques rarely combined in his day, on one of the widest plates he ever used — daring that earned it its place here. The view looks up from the orchestra pit of the Paris Opéra, home of the first state-supported ballet academy, double-bass necks intruding into the dancers' zone. One ballerina holds fifth position en pointe; the loose scatter of the corps, hair worn free, suggests rehearsal rather than performance. The cropped forms and odd vantage that made Degas modern are all here; the sheet is in the Art Institute of Chicago.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
