Rhythm, Joie de vivre — Robert Delaunay
A huge Geometric Abstract canvas print in red and yellow. The wheel of red, yellow and green rings throws warm colour right across the floor, so a living room, an entryway or a hotel lobby stops being a white box and gains the thing people look at as they walk in.
Visual Presence
Hung two metres wide, the red and yellow arcs bounce warm colour back into the room, so a white wall reads lit on a grey afternoon without another lamp. The green rings down the left and the near-black disc centres hold that heat steady, which keeps a bright room from tipping into glare. From the far side of the room it reads as one turning wheel; the pale cream rectangle across the middle and the small pink rings only come apart from it up close.
About the Art
Robert Delaunay (1885–1941), Modern, painted 1930. Robert Delaunay (1885–1941), Orphism, painted 1930. We chose it because it is the point where he throws out the subject and keeps only colour: no city, no tower, no figure, just discs turning against each other. At 200 by 228 centimetres it was painted to hold a wall rather than fill a frame, and it comes first in the run of Rythmes that carried him through the decade, before Rythme sans fin and Rythme n°1. Sonia Delaunay and Charles Delaunay gave it to the Musée National d'Art Moderne in 1964; it hangs at the Centre Pompidou as AM 4083 P.

Each print is custom stretched and framed at our Melbourne facility. Every piece is cut and assembled by hand, to ensure the highest quality finish.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
Production: 3 days.
Delivery: 1–2 weeks worldwide — tracked, insured, shipping included. Framed and stretched options are available for Australia & New Zealand only — see Worldwide Delivery.
