About the Art
Hilma af Klint stands among the very first European painters to work in a fully abstract language, developing her radical imagery years before Wassily Kandinsky or Piet Mondrian showed theirs — reason enough to give her wall space. No. 4 continues the Youth stage of The Ten Largest, part of her vast cycle The Paintings for the Temple; she believed the commission for ten paradisaically beautiful paintings was delivered during séances held with the spiritualist group The Five. Tempera on paper mounted on canvas at roughly 328 by 240 centimetres, it pinwheels petal and flower-forms over a radiant orange ground. The Hilma af Klint Foundation preserves the series today.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
