Fight Between a Tiger and a Buffalo — Henri Rousseau
A huge Jungle canvas print in green and orange. Its wall of overlapping leaves sinks a living room, hotel lobby or reception into deep green shade, while the striped tiger low in the foliage gives a long hallway one point of burning amber to walk toward.
Visual Presence
From across the room the canvas reads as one dense green mass, cooling the wall like a stand of trees so a pale or timber interior gains instant depth. The cream banana bunches and scattered orange fruit catch lamplight first, so in the evening the wall glimmers in small warm points against the shade. The tiger and buffalo only resolve as you come closer, which gives a hallway or lobby wall a reason to be walked up to.
About the Art
Henri Rousseau (1844–1910), painted 1908. Henri Rousseau never left France; he built his jungles from the Paris botanical garden and travel books, which is why these hothouse plants tower to fearsome size and the bananas hang upside down. He was working on this canvas while briefly imprisoned for fraud, and officials granted an early release so he could finish it for the Salon des Indépendants, where it hung as one of his largest, most important compositions. Picasso and the avant-garde prized exactly this naïve purity of vision. Now in the Cleveland Museum of Art, a gift of the Hanna Fund, it is the Rousseau jungle at full force — which is why we chose it.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
