A huge Expressionist canvas print in yellow and green. The tiger's yellow flank takes the middle of the wall and the hard green and brick-red wedges around it push into every corner, so a living room, a hotel lobby or a reception wall gains one animal watching the room rather than a pattern on it.
Visual Presence
At two metres the yellow body bounces warm light back into the space, so a white wall behind a sofa reads sunlit even on a grey day. The tiger's head is turned back into the dark upper-left corner, which pulls the weight of the picture to one side and gives a wide wall a clear anchor instead of a centred block. The greens and brick reds behind the animal are flat and hard-edged, so from the doorway the piece reads as bold shapes and only resolves into a crouching cat close up.
About the Art

He takes the faceting he had studied in Picasso and Braque and builds the tiger out of the same wedges as the rocks behind him, so cat and ground lock together. The Lenbachhaus, which holds it as G 13320, describes the aim as the animal's restrained but explosive energy, its readiness to spring. The canvas is small, roughly 112 by 102 centimetres, which is why it repays printing at wall scale. It came from the Bernhard and Elly Koehler Foundation in 1965.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
