Visual Presence
A broad dark-olive band cuts diagonally across a pale ground, met by an elegant sweeping arc and a mottled blue triangle holding a small white-bordered red square. A solid black orb trails fine radiating lines at the upper right, while scattered squares, arcs and a bright woven checkerboard punctuate the field. Blues, black and olive dominate, lifted by red, yellow and a woven flicker of colour.
About the Art
This work reflects Wassily Kandinsky's Bauhaus years (1922-1933 in Weimar then Dessau), the period in which he taught alongside the school's masters and set out his theory of form in the 1926 Bauhausbücher volume Point and Line to Plane. In that book he treated the point, the line and the plane as forces in tension, and his compositions of these years hold diagonal thrusts, ruled lines, the circle and the triangle in deliberate equilibrium across open space. The mottled washes contained within closed forms are characteristic of the watercolours he produced in these years. This is documented context for Kandinsky's Bauhaus method; the specific individual work could not be verified against the catalogue record.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
