A large square Symbolist canvas print in gold and white. Its glowing cream disc and thin white rays give a hallway, bedroom or reception one quiet point of light to walk toward, while the warm brown ground keeps the wall soft under lamps.
Visual Presence
Across the room the print reads as a single ring of pale light on warm umber, closer to a glow than a picture, and the wall around it goes quiet. The thin white rays spread past the disc's edge, so the canvas seems to light the plaster it hangs on rather than sit against it. In a lamp-lit hallway or bedroom the brown ground deepens while the cream disc keeps its faint shine, holding one still point at the end of the sightline.
About the Art
Theo van Doesburg is remembered as the founder of De Stijl, all black grids and primary colour — which is exactly why this small oil stops us. It comes from his Theosophical period, when his first wife, the theosophist poet Agnita Feis, and the ideas of Kandinsky shaped his search for a spiritual art. The Dutch title translates as 'The Causal Body of the Adept' — Theosophy's name for the subtle body of a spiritually advanced person — and he paints it as rings of coloured light around a tiny radiant figure. We chose it as a rare document of a great geometric mind painting pure spirit.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
