An oversized Botanical canvas print in gold and green. The deep green lotus leaves weight the base of the wall while the warm silk ground carries a soft amber light down a hallway, entry foyer or wellness-space wall, the single bent stem giving the eye one quiet line to follow.
Visual Presence
From across the room the canvas reads as one tall field of warm amber silk, throwing a low, honeyed light that makes a pale hallway feel lamp-lit. The near-black green of the lotus leaves gives the lower wall real weight, so the space above them stays open and calm. It belongs on a wall people walk past — a corridor or entry where the bent stem slows every pass.
About the Art
Shibata Zeshin, celebrated in Edo-period Japan as both painter and master lacquer artist, painted this lotus as one leaf of an accordion-style album — ink, colour and gold on silk — held by the Cleveland Museum of Art through its John L. Severance Fund. The museum notes that the mottled surface of the great leaves comes from tarashikomi, "dripping in": wet pigment dropped into wet ink so the two pool and bloom together on the silk. We chose this leaf for that surface — a bent, dying stem over leaves that hold the accident of water in permanent form.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
