Visual Presence

About the Art
Odilon Redon reached for one of world literature's great heroines: Sita, the devoted wife of Rama from the Ramayana, the Hindu epic, appears in radiant profile against a star-scattered field of blue. He worked in luminous pastel over charcoal on paper altered to a golden tone — colour as vision, not description. We chose it for that rare meeting of East and West in Symbolist art, and for a record few pastels can match: handled by the Galeries Durand-Ruel in Paris, part of the Joseph Winterbotham Collection, bequeathed to the Art Institute of Chicago, and exhibited in Odilon Redon: Prince of Dreams and the Asian Art Museum's The Rama Epic.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
