Sergei Esenin (1895–1925) as a Youth — Boris Grigoriev
A huge Expressionist canvas print in orange and red. The whole upper half is a burning orange harvest hill and the boy's red shirt sits at standing eye level below it, so a hallway, an entryway or a hotel reception gains one warm lit surface running the full height of the wall instead of a narrow cold gap.
Visual Presence
Printed two metres tall, the orange harvest hill fills the upper half of the wall and throws warm light back down into the space, so a hallway or an entryway reads golden and occupied rather than tight. From the far end of a corridor only two things carry — the red shirt and the pale face turned straight out at you — so the wall holds a person at your own height to walk towards. The dark blue-green leaves banked across both lower corners weigh the print down at floor level, which lets it hold a tall bare wall on its own without a group of frames around it.
About the Art
Boris Grigoriev (1886–1939), Modern, painted 1923. Boris Grigoriev (1886–1939), Russian Expressionism, painted 1923. We chose it because Grigoriev had already made peasant Russia his subject — his Raseya album of hard, un-idealised village faces appeared in Petrograd, and after he left the country in 1919 he reissued it enlarged in Berlin. Here he hands that village back to Sergei Esenin, the poet who came out of one: a boy in a red shirt with the harvest running on behind his head. Esenin was in Berlin and Paris with Isadora Duncan in the year this is dated; he was dead two years later, at thirty. Gouache and charcoal on paperboard, Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1972.146.3.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
