An oversized Landscape canvas print in aqua and grey. The wide turquoise sky and sea open a living room, hotel lobby or boardroom wall onto bright coastal air, while the shadowed rock arch and white shingle beach give the far end of the room one solid point to look toward.
Visual Presence
Across the room the canvas reads as one broad field of turquoise, pushing the wall back like a window onto open sea and cooling the space in front of it. The dark cliff mass gives a pale plaster or timber interior real weight, an anchor the furniture can sit against. In the evening the white beach strip catches lamplight first, so the wall stays alive after dark.
About the Art
Gustave Courbet (1819–1877), Realism, painted after 1872. Gustave Courbet made the chalk arch at Étretat one of the most painted motifs in French art: his campaigns on this Normandy beach produced celebrated cliff pictures, and Claude Monet later set up his easel before the same arch. This canvas repeats that famous composition — fishing boats hauled onto white shingle beneath the Porte d'Aval. The Cleveland Museum of Art, which received it from the estate of the inventor Charles F. Brush, catalogues it as the work of a close imitator painting after Courbet. We chose it for the motif itself: the sea-carved arch that drew a generation of painters to this shore.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
