Visual Presence
This print gives a room weather — a wall of moody grey cloud over glinting teal water that shifts in feel as the daylight changes. At size, the low horizon pulls the eye deep into the picture and makes a boardroom or lounge feel larger than its walls. The teal is the working colour: it cools the space and picks up any blue or green already in it.
About the Art
Eugène Boudin made the Normandy coast at Trouville one of the defining subjects of French painting, and we chose this stormy seascape because it captures that world at full force. The Cleveland Museum of Art catalogues the canvas as the work of a painter working in Boudin's manner, dating it to the later nineteenth century — a follower fluent in his language of sky and sea. Thick, textured strokes of oil build grey and brown cloud over churning teal water, with small sailing boats and a distant steamer strung along the horizon. It was given to the museum in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Salmon P. Halle.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
