A large square Landscape canvas print in gold and grey. Its bare grey trees, still scattering their last red leaves across the warm silk ground, bring a hushed end-of-season stillness to a living room, boardroom or hotel-lounge wall.
Visual Presence
From across the room the print reads as one warm square of autumn silk, and that low golden light carries into the space around it. The pale blue peaks and thread of white waterfall in the upper corner lend the wall real distance, so even a modest living room borrows depth from the picture. Under evening lamps the gold ground deepens while the scattered red leaves keep glinting, and the whole room settles with it.
About the Art
Chen Hongshou painted this autumn landscape as one leaf of a twenty-painting double album, Paintings after Ancient Masters, acquired by the Cleveland Museum of Art through its John L. Severance Fund. On a silk page barely thirty centimetres tall he compresses an entire season: bare trees shedding red leaves, a waterfall, distant blue peaks, figures pausing on a footbridge. The museum reads this deliberate miniaturisation as the inner world of Ming loyalist scholars, and calls the late albums archaistic and hyper-refined without shallowness. We chose this leaf because that condensed world survives enlargement — the further back you stand, the wider it opens.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
