The Sun — Edvard Munch
An oversized Expressionist canvas print in yellow and blue. The white-hot sun at the centre pushes its yellow rays out to every edge of the canvas, so a hotel lobby, a reception wall or a living room gains a source of daylight that does not depend on the windows.
Visual Presence
At two to three metres wide the burning white centre becomes the brightest point in the room, lifting a wall that sits in shadow for most of the day. The yellow rays run out to all four corners, so the eye keeps travelling outward and a wide wall reads wider rather than filled. Below them the flat blue band of sea and the mauve-pink rocks hold the bottom steady, which keeps the piece warm and calm instead of loud.
About the Art

We chose it because it is the one Munch with no dread in it: no faces, just a sun coming up over the cliffs of a southern Norwegian archipelago, which is how Munch himself described the scene. He painted it for the ceremonial hall, the Aula, at the University of Oslo, his first public commission, and worked through several hundred drawings and studies to get there. The finished wall painting is nearly eight metres wide and still hangs in that hall, its rays running out across the canvases on either side. It stands for enlightenment, and it was built to be seen big.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
