How to Choose Art for Your Room (Start With the Wall, Not the Sofa)

The usual advice starts with the sofa. Ours starts with the wall — because in most homes the best wall for art doesn't have a sofa in front of it.

1. Pick the commanding wall

Walk to the doorway of the room. The wall your eye lands on first is the one that matters: entry walls, stair voids, dining walls, the long wall of an open plan. That's where one strong work earns its place.

2. Measure, then be braver than you planned

Measure the wall's width and height. The most common mistake is undersizing — a work that would sing at 180 cm hung at 100. On a feature wall, aim for roughly two-thirds of the wall's width. With high ceilings, go vertical. If a standard size doesn't fit, we print to your exact centimetre.

3. Choose by room, colour or feeling

Browse by room, filter by colour, or search by describing what you're looking for. Answer five quick questions and the studio narrows 320+ works to your best matches.

4. See it on your wall before you decide

Every artwork page lets you preview the piece on a photo of your own wall, at true scale. No guessing — what you see is what we print, framed in oak in Melbourne and delivered free and insured across Australia.
